Licensed Professional Counselor, Owner
Hi there! My name is Adina Antar and I am a psychotherapist licensed in both New York and New Jersey. I have experience working with children, teenagers, young adults, adults, couples, and families. My areas of expertise include treating mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, anxiety disorders, gender identity issues, life adjustments, family counseling, and more. In the years that I worked as a just-recently-graduated-and-new-to-this therapist, I learned that the best type of therapy clients gain the most from are ones is where the therapist is more than just a blank state, but someone who you can feel comfortable with. Someone who can help you feel your emotions but does not judge you for them. Someone who understands that life happens, mistakes are made, that we are human. From my experiences working both as a therapist and just being human, I opened my private practice on the simple but complicated task of being personal with clients but holding those necessary and important boundaries in place so the therapy can be for the client and about the client.
Licensed Associate Counselor
Hello, I am Val Karabin, a lifelong local of the beautiful Jersey Shore. I believe the rich diversity of our
local communities make our area unique and a special place where we can learn, grow, and flourish by
not only understanding ourselves but cultivating understanding and awareness for others. I have a
strong passion to provide mental health services to those within my local community because any self improvement
one offers themselves, ripples out to others. I have practiced yoga for over 20 years as
part of my own self-improvement and believe in the mind-body-spirit connection. Our life experiences
shape who we are, good or bad. My work focuses on self-awareness and understanding both our
strengths and weaknesses, what are we doing well and where can we use improvement. Stigma around
mental health is a known barrier as to why people do not seek services. It is my greatest hopes that
through my local work, we as a community will start to chip away at that barrier.
