Licensed Professional Counselor, Owner
Hi there! My name is Adina Antar and I am a psychotherapist licensed in both New York and New Jersey. I have experience working with children, teenagers, young adults, adults, couples, and families. My areas of expertise include treating mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, anxiety disorders, gender identity issues, life adjustments, family counseling, and more. In the years that I worked as a just-recently-graduated-and-new-to-this therapist, I learned that the best type of therapy clients gain the most from are ones is where the therapist is more than just a blank state, but someone who you can feel comfortable with. Someone who can help you feel your emotions but does not judge you for them. Someone who understands that life happens, mistakes are made, that we are human. From my experiences working both as a therapist and just being human, I opened my private practice on the simple but complicated task of being personal with clients but holding those necessary and important boundaries in place so the therapy can be for the client and about the client.
In addition to obtaining my licensure in counseling, I also have completed a Post Master's Certificate in Clinical Practice with Adolescents through NYU Silver School of Social Work (2020), a Post Master's Certificate in Child and Family Therapy through NYU Silver School of Social Work (2023), and I am also an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) through Center for Credentialing and Education Inc. (2022).
